1．eager 的用法
eager adj.渴望的，殷切期盼的；熱心的。其副詞形式為eagerly，名詞形式為eagerness。例如：
① He was eager for success.他渴望成功。
② They are eager to see their daughter.
他們渴望見到他們的女兒。
③John was eager for us to come to the party.
約翰殷切期盼我們來參加晚會。
④We are eager that the project should be started early.
我們熱切希望這項計劃能早日著手進行。
⑤They listened to the lecture with eager attention.
他們熱切地傾聽講座。
⑥They listened to me eagerly.
他們殷切地聽我說話。
⑦She is in her eagerness to see her husband.
她急于要見她的丈夫。
【注意】eager和anxious都有“渴望”之意，eager帶有更多的熱切、興奮的情緒，而anxious帶有更多的焦慮的心情。
①He is anxious about his safety.
他對她的安全感到焦慮。
②They became anxious at her delay.
他們開始為她的耽擱焦慮不安。
③She was eager about her progress. 她渴望進步。
④I'm eager to go with you.我很想和你去。
2．disturb 的用法
disturb[dis't+::b] vt.妨礙，打擾(睡眠、工作等)；擾亂…，搞亂 …；使(人)心神不寧。例如：
①The noise in the street disturbed my study.
街上噪音干擾我念書。
②Tell me if I'm disturbing you.
請告訴我是否打擾你了？
③ A light wind disturbed the smooth surface of the lake.
一陣微風使平靜的湖面泛起波紋。
④She was disturbed to hear of her mother's sudden illness.
她獲悉母親得急病后感到心神不安。
3．explain 的用法
1) explain用作及物動詞，但不可帶雙賓語，只可說 explain sth. to sb.
意為“向某人解釋某事”。
①The teacher explained the problem to the class.
老師向全班同學解釋了那個問題。
②The student explained to me the reason for his being late.
學生向我解釋了遲到的原因。
【注】常見的帶雙賓語的動詞還有bring, buy, cost, give, leave, lend, make, offer, owe, pass, pay, promise, read, refuse, send, show, take, tell, write等。
【注】 suggest與explain一樣，只可說 I suggested a way out to her. 我向她提出了個解決問題的方法。
2)explain后可接從句或疑問詞帶不定式結構。
①He explained to us what had happened in town.
他告訴我們城里發(fā)生的事。
②He explained why he was late for the meeting.
他解釋開會遲到的原因。
③ He explained that he had to leave at once.
他說他得馬上離開。
④He explained what to do next.
他解釋下一步該做什么。
⑤ He explained to us how to use the machine.
