        Unit 6 Shall we go to the park?

        一、教學(xué)目標(biāo)與要求

        學(xué)習(xí)并初步掌握提建議的表達(dá)方法和應(yīng)答用語(yǔ),是本單元的教學(xué)重點(diǎn)。通過(guò)本單元教學(xué),使學(xué)生能用口、筆頭形式提出一些簡(jiǎn)單建議,并對(duì)他人的建議作出適當(dāng)?shù)膽?yīng)答。能夠獨(dú)立完成練習(xí)冊(cè)各種形式的練習(xí),正確率不低于70%。能借助quarter, half, past, to等單詞,正確表達(dá)時(shí)間;正確讀出[ei] [ai] [&i]三個(gè)雙元音,掌握本單元所列出的對(duì)應(yīng)這三個(gè)雙元音的字母及字母組合的讀音和拼寫(xiě)形式。

        二、教學(xué)重點(diǎn)與難點(diǎn)

        1.句型:

        3)I have quite a lot of homework to do.

        4)Shall we go to the park?

        教學(xué)步驟 (Teaching steps)

        Lesson 21

        Step 1 Revision

        Revise telling the time, using o'clock, six fifteen , seven thirty , etc.

        Ask some Ss What time do you usually get up/have breakfast/go to school? etc. Make a note of their answers on the Bb. Get the Ss ask in pairs about their parents or other relatives: What time do your parents go to work/come home? etc.

        Step 2 Presentation

        Draw a circle and teach quarter and three quarters .

        Draw a clockface on the Bb. Put the hands at 6:15. Say What's the time? It's a quarter past six. Get the Ss to practise the phrase.

        Put the hands at 10:15/3:15/12:15 and ask What's the time? Help the Ss to answer.

        Repeat with a quarter to and half past.

        Step 3 Drill

        Say a time using numbers (e.g. 3:45). Ss must say the time using a quarter to/past or half past:

        T:3:15.

        Ss:A quarter past three .

        T:3:30.

        Ss:Half past three .

        T:3:45 .

        Ss:A quarter to four .

        Show the Ss when to use past and to by drawing a diagram like this:

        Step 4 Read and act

        SB page 21, Part 1. Speech Cassette Lesson 21.

        Books closed! Ask What time is Meimei coming to Ann's house? Play the tape for Ss to find the answer.

        Play the tape again. Ss listen and repeat.

        Explain in Chinese that What time shall I come? is asking for a suggestion, whilst Why don't you come a little earlier? is a way of making a suggestion. I would/I'd love to! is used to accept an invitation. It is short for I would love to come to supper. About a quarter to = About a quarter to six. Note that then in May I come then? refers to six o'clock. Let the Ss practise the dialogue in pairs and ask some pairs to act it out.

        Step 5 Presentation

        Draw the clockface again, and briefly revise

        Step 2. Then, in the same way, teach…minutes to/past. Carry out a short drill, similar to the one in Step 3. For example:

        T:11:10 .

        Ss:Ten minutes past eleven .

        T:11:25 .

        Ss:Twenty-five minutes past eleven.

        T:11: 40.

        Ss:Twenty minutes to twelve etc.

        Step 6 Practice

        Wb Lesson 21, Ex. 1.

        SB page 21, Part 2 and Part 3. Ask individual Ss one or two questions about the table, then Ss ask and answer in pairs .In Part 2, they use numbers (7:20); in Part 3, they use the phrases in the box at the bottom of the page to help them.

        Step 7 Workbook

        Wb Lesson 21, Exx. 2 and 3. For Ex. 2, ask some Ss a question as a model before the Ss work in pairs to fill in the form.

        Ex. 3 is optional . If there is time, get the Ss to do it in pairs .

        The answers are: Are, are going, would, shall, At, at, afraid, am going, on, little, be.

        Homework

        Finish off the Workbook exercises .

        Write down the answers to Ex . 1 in the exercise books.

        Revise the dialogue in SB Lesson 21, Part 1.

        Lesson 22

        Step 1 Revision

        1 Check the homework .

        2 Revise telling the time.

        Step 2 Presentation

        Revise be going to: ask Ss What are you going to do next Sunday? Write this sentence on the Bb.

        Then draw Jim and Lin Tao on the Bb and present this dialogue:

        J: What are we going to do next Sunday?

        L: I don't know. Shall we go shopping?

        J: No, let's go swimming.

        L: Good idea.

        Repeat. Get the Ss to listen and repeat. Write Shall we…? Let's… on the Bb. Explain that Shall we…? and Let's… are ways of making suggestions . Divide the class into two groups to practise the dialogue .

        Step 3 Drill

        Give each half of the class a cue: point to Group A and say e. g. go to see Li Lei and to Group B and say play football. Tell Group A to begin:

        A: What are we going to do next Sunday?

        B: I don't know. Shall we play football?

        A: No, let's go to see Li Lei.

        B: Good idea.

        Repeat with different cues . Sometimes ask Group B to begin .

        Step 4 Reading

        Ask the Ss to look at the pictures on SB page 22.

        Tell them These are animals. Some animals live in a zoo. There's a big zoo in Beijing. Get the Ss to guess the meaning of animal and zoo and to practise saying these words .

        SB page 22, Part 1. Speech Cassette Lesson 22.

        Books closed! Ask What time are Jim and Lin Tao going to meet? Play the tape for the Ss to find the answer. Play the tape again. Ss listen and repeat . Books open ! Go through the dialogue with the Ss . Get them to guess the meaning of park. Ask some comprehension questions:

        What are they going to look at? Where is the zoo? etc. Explain I've no idea = I don't know and Let's make it a little earlier/at half past one = Let's meet a little earlier/at half past one.

        Step 5 Acting

        Let the Ss practise the dialogue in pairs .

        Remind them to use the book for reference only as they say the lines . Ask some pairs to act out the dialogue.

        Do Wb Lesson 22, Ex. 1 orally.

        Step 6 Practice

        Get the Ss to work out a short dialogue in pairs, making their own plans for next Sunday, using the dialogues in Step 2 and in SB page 22, Part 1 as models . Ask some pairs to act theirs out.

        Step 7 Ask and answer

        SB page 22, Part 2. Help the Ss to pronounce the name of each animal correctly. Then ask the three questions. Note the position of the word only in Question 2. For Question 3, ask several Ss .

        Step 8 Workbook

        Wb Lesson 22, Exx . 2 and 3. Do these exercises orally, in pairs .

        Check the answers with the whole class. In Ex. 3, any answer is suitable, depending on the attitude of the speaker.

        Homework

        Finish off the Workbook exercises .

        Learn the new words in this lesson.

        Write down the questions and answers in Wb Ex. 1 in the exercise books.
