5. call on sb = visit sb. call on sb. to do sth = appeal to sb to do sth

6. pretty adj. (esp. of a woman, a child, or a small thing) pleasing or nice to look
at, listen to, etc. charming but not beautiful or grand

pretty adv. in some degree, rather, quite though not completely

7. day and night

8. pay back/off = to return what one owes
