        Teaching Aims:

        1. Train the students reading ability especially the skills of summarizing and scanning.

        2. Study and have a good grasp of some keywords and phrases.

        3. Learn to analyze some difficult long sentences.

        Pre-reading

        Ask some questions about some famous men and women. Talk about LiuXiang, Deng Yaping etc. They all have broken the world records.

        Introduce something about records. For example: Our school students broke the school records in the sports meeting. Ask the students some questions such as: Can you tell me why they set the record? When you break the record, what do you think of yourself? etc.

        Today, we will learn about the Guinness Book of world records. Before reading the passage, look at the questions in your books in P3.
