本節(jié)課要求了解一個(gè)概念：什么是代溝。
介紹和練習(xí)三種閱讀技巧：理解標(biāo)題預(yù)測(cè)內(nèi)容，用跳讀的方式了解文章結(jié)構(gòu)及作者觀點(diǎn)，根據(jù)上下文理解生詞意思。
一個(gè)符合兩綱要求的教育基點(diǎn)：用愛(ài)，理解和交流處理好父母子女兩代人的關(guān)系。

1. Warming-up
What’s a generation gap?
T: There is a gap in the wall, Is the wall beautiful? Is it safe?
T: Sometimes there is also a gap between our parents and us, for example, in the previous text “Father and Son”, Luo Kahing likes making films but his parents want him to get good results in his exams.. There is a conflict between them, how about your parents and you?
Ask them to find words in the passage to take the place of the words underlined.
A gap in the wall
Since the wall has a gap, people want to repair it, to narrow the gap, or to remove the gap.
The gap is common and natural in our life, and it usually leads to conflicts, quarrel, unhappiness. So what can we do to narrow the gap? Read the text, and it will give us some suggestions. 通過(guò)展現(xiàn)墻上的裂縫，引出gap一詞的意思，進(jìn)而啟發(fā)思考：父母與子女在某些方面的分歧，矛盾也是一種gap,叫做generation gap.

Generation gap is a term coined by sociologists in the 1960s to describe differences in beliefs and values, family and friends, work and study, career and life goals between young adults and their parents.
Here we have new words, and what will you do if you meet with new words when reading?

S: The gap is not always negative. The gap can help people realize their own problems, e.g. lack of respect, lack of communication, lack of tolerance of imperfection and so on.
S: 1) Through efforts (generated by love and understanding between parents and their offspring)
2) the generation gap is a very natural thing, and a positive attitude and communication between parents and children will help.
S: problems get solved, personalities change, conflicts turn into harmony and the family thrives.

結(jié)合新課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和高考重點(diǎn)的趨勢(shì)，閱讀在高中英語(yǔ)教學(xué)中有著越來(lái)越重要的作用。在高一，高二給學(xué)生介紹一定的閱讀方法，結(jié)合文章閱讀進(jìn)行閱讀技能的培養(yǎng)非常重要。
在牛津英語(yǔ)教材中，閱讀技巧主要是skimming和scanning，每篇課文都訓(xùn)練到這兩個(gè)技能來(lái)理解文章大意和一些細(xì)節(jié)問(wèn)題。學(xué)生在閱讀實(shí)際中，通過(guò)快讀掌握大意，通過(guò)尋讀尋找細(xì)節(jié)，基本掌握了這兩項(xiàng)閱讀技巧。但是，要提高閱讀速度和獲得準(zhǔn)確的信息，這兩個(gè)閱讀技巧是遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠的。通過(guò)閱讀和總結(jié)，我覺(jué)得還有以下幾點(diǎn)基本閱讀技能要求學(xué)生掌握：預(yù)測(cè)。（根據(jù)標(biāo)題預(yù)測(cè)內(nèi)容，根據(jù)上文預(yù)測(cè)下文或結(jié)果）根據(jù)上下文猜新詞意思�？偨Y(jié)文章大意或段意。理解文章結(jié)構(gòu)。讀懂作者意圖和觀點(diǎn)。讀出詞或句的隱含意義。
在本課中，以Love Narrows the Gap為載體，訓(xùn)練了學(xué)生根據(jù)上下文理解詞義的技巧，改變他們碰到生單詞就查詞典，浪費(fèi)時(shí)間的方法。同時(shí)，將英文解釋帶到課文中去翻譯文中三個(gè)長(zhǎng)句，加深對(duì)詞匯的理解，也熟悉了該文中長(zhǎng)句的意思，降低了閱讀的難度。在六個(gè)猜詞題目中，注意了老師先示例，學(xué)生后練習(xí)，在核對(duì)檢驗(yàn)的過(guò)程，讓學(xué)生在猜詞過(guò)程中有一定的梯度，不會(huì)覺(jué)得很難。
第二，教師對(duì)標(biāo)題的提問(wèn)，啟發(fā)學(xué)生分析標(biāo)題。學(xué)生在回答提問(wèn)過(guò)程中發(fā)現(xiàn)作者在文中就是圍繞標(biāo)題來(lái)寫的。所以，分析標(biāo)題就能預(yù)知全文內(nèi)容，體現(xiàn)了認(rèn)真閱讀標(biāo)題的重要性。通過(guò)標(biāo)題的問(wèn)答，學(xué)生清楚地了解了文章的結(jié)構(gòu)布局是由代溝概念---對(duì)待代溝的態(tài)度--- 怎樣縮小代溝來(lái)謀片布局的。特別是第三段，作者的觀點(diǎn)句是首句：The gap is not always negative. 緊接著是支撐：The gap can help people realize their own problems, e.g. lack of respect, lack of communication, lack of tolerance of imperfection and so on.通過(guò)對(duì)學(xué)生分析文章的布局結(jié)構(gòu)，讓學(xué)生更好的理解作者主旨。
第三，通過(guò)上海中學(xué)生星報(bào)的一篇有關(guān)代溝的同話題文章的閱讀，指導(dǎo)學(xué)生利用剛剛學(xué)過(guò)的閱讀技巧來(lái)為段落配標(biāo)題，尋找作者的觀點(diǎn)及其支撐句，現(xiàn)學(xué)現(xiàn)用，效果較好。
