        1. I just got a new job in another country. I think it’ll be fun to experience a new culture.

        1). experience

        1 [U] (the process of getting) knowledge or skill which is obtained from doing, seeing or feeling things: 經(jīng)驗(yàn),體會(huì)

        The best way to learn is by experience (= by doing things).

        I don't think she has the experience for the job (= enough knowledge and skill for it).

        2 [C] something that happens to you that affects how you feel: 經(jīng)歷;體驗(yàn)

        It was interesting hearing about his experiences as a policeman.

        fun與funny的辨析:

        一、首先是明白funny 與 fun 詞性不同:funny 是形容詞,意為“有趣的,滑稽的,奇怪的”;fun 是名詞,意為“有趣的事”。

        二、兩者含義上也有差別:funny 表示“有趣的,滑稽的”,它指的是一種滑稽可笑的“有趣”,側(cè)重點(diǎn)是讓人覺(jué)得好玩或發(fā)笑。而 fun 則主要指“有趣,好玩”,不像funny 那樣強(qiáng)調(diào)“滑稽”。

        三、比較并體會(huì)以下例句:

        It is more fun to go with someone than to go alone. 偕伴同去比自己獨(dú)自去好玩。

        It's funny to see a man walk with his hands and head. 看見一個(gè)人倒立走路很滑稽

        choose:

        elect的用法

        (1)及物動(dòng)詞 vt. 選舉、推選及物動(dòng)詞 vt. 選舉、推選

        They elected him chairman of the meeting

        Reagan was elected President. 里根被選為總統(tǒng)

        elect a chairman選舉一個(gè)主席

        (2)elect 指通過(guò)投票選擇某人擔(dān)任某職位。例如:

        We all elected him monitor. 我們一致推舉他當(dāng)班長(zhǎng)。

        Washington was elected president in 1787. 華盛頓于1787年當(dāng)選為總統(tǒng)。

        pick的用法

        (1)及物動(dòng)詞 vt. 拾起;采集take something up with the fingers;gather things

        The children were picking tomatoes in the garden孩子們?cè)趫@里摘西紅柿

        Pat picked some flowers to put in a vase. 帕特摘了一些花放到了花瓶里

        (2)及物動(dòng)詞 vt. 選擇;挑選 choose someone or something

        He always picked the hardest and dirtiest jobs. 他總是挑最臟最累的活干

        The sports master picked the best boys for the team體育老師挑選了最好的男生參加運(yùn)動(dòng)隊(duì)

        (3)及物動(dòng)詞 vt. 竊取;偷take the contents by stealing;steal from

        He had his pocket picked. 他的腰包被掏了

        pick 指標(biāo)準(zhǔn)不太嚴(yán)格的選擇。例如:

        Pick the best, please. 請(qǐng)你挑最好的。

        select指“精選”, 即有所淘汰。

        He looked through the suits and selected the cheapest one for me. 他細(xì)細(xì)地翻看這些衣服,給我挑了一件最便宜的。
