　　或者，從不用謊言去應付謊言，

　　也從不用仇恨去回擊仇恨;

　　既不故作正經也不夸夸其談。

　　假如你能充滿夢想——但絕不做夢想的奴仆;

　　假如你能思考——卻不把思考當作目標;

　　假如你能在遇到勝利和困難時態度同樣平靜;

　　假如你能容忍你所說的真理被無賴用作捕捉愚人的陷阱

　　或看著你所獻身的事業轟然倒塌，

　　你能拾起殘破的工具把它們重建。

　　假如你能把所有贏來的籌碼都押在一把賭注上，
