        英語作文 篇2

In the Northern Street of Paris, there sat an old man with white hair and a stick. He was blind, and nobody wanted to help him. One day a noble man came to this street and saw the old man with blind eyes, he asked, “Excuse me, don’t you bother? But, I just want to ask how much did you get today this morning?” “Oh! I didn’t get anything!” cried the old man in a sad tune, and then the noble man realized that next to the old man was a cardboard paper, and on were the word, “I can’t see anything!” and also realized that the people who passed this place will just look at the paper, smiled; and went away to do their own things. Since this man was a noble man, he knew what to do to make everybody happy.

And so he took all the money he had in him which was $12, and placed it in a bowl near him; and then he took out his pen which he had in his hand all along, and wrote the some words in front of the words that are already on; and these were the words, “The spring has come, but;” these words, and then went away. In the evening, the noble man came visiting this place again, he saw the old man sitting down as usual and asked him, “Well how much did you get this afternoon then?”

The old man smiled, “Noble man, I don’t know what you did but the people that gave me money this afternoon were so many that even god couldn’t count them!” and then the noble looked at the bowl with money and stroked his beard while he smiled.

“The spring has come, but I can’t see anything!” these words could be so much use, it might produce that the noble man in this story has technology, which made the poor blind man happy.

Although this noble man which we are talking about helped the old man, but he also remembered what the other people did. People asked him many other questions, and the noble man of course answered them all. Some of the people in town that didn’t want to help the blinded old man were locked up in jail for their cruelty instead of kindness.

The moral of this story is, when you see somebody that is in need, go and help them and you will feel better in the end.

It was a cold day, but my heart was even colder. I could not accept the fact that my granny got cancer. Facts are facts. Only an operation could help her. James Bender, in his book How to Talk Well tells the story of a farmer who grew award-winning corn. Each year he won a blue ribbon. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it.

The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year? the reporter asked. Why, said the farmer, didnt you know? The wind picks up pollen(花粉) from the ripening corn and carries it from field to field. If my neighbors grow bad corn, cross-pollination(異花受粉) will slowly reduce the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.

He is very much aware of the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbors corn also improves. The lesson for each of us is this: If we are to grow good corn, we must help our neighbors grow good corn.

        英語作文 篇7

it is quite common for parents to beat their children, because they think eating is a good way to make children learn and behave well. one of my neighbors made a very strict demand on his son and scolded him bitterly or smacked(稍帶特定味道) him whenever he was lazy or disobedient(違抗命令的). to justify(辯解) what he did, he said,” spare the rod and ruin the child.”

actually beating is a violent way of treating children. it does more harm and causes more hurt than good to children’s physical and psychological health. however, beating children is common occurrence(出現(xiàn)) in our life. many children become disable because their parents hit them too hard. some lost their hearing and some became lame(跛腳的). some children develop an internal(內(nèi)在的) hatred(憎恨) for their parents and protest(抗議) by running away from home. others may become so fearful of their parents that they tremble(發(fā)抖) at the sight of their angry parents. a mother, for eample, even went so far as to beat her son to death because she was not satisfied with his study. likewise(同樣地), it is not unusual that the child murdered(兇殺) his parents because of the etreme contradiction(矛盾) between them. how can children learn and grow healthily under such circumstance(環(huán)境)?

quite often parents will be torn by pangs(劇痛) of regret(懊悔) and remorse(自責(zé)) after they have beaten their children. they feel very sad in the rest of their lives. but it is already too late. how can they bring their handicapped(有生理缺陷的.) child back to healthy one? how can they relieve(減輕) pains in their children’s heart so easily? we can say beating hurts both children and parents. it is absolutely a bad way to make children learn and behave well.

eactly speaking, children are also human beings. they have self-respect and should be respected. parents should understand and guide them by advising, persuading and reasoning. they may criticize(批評) them without hurting their self-respect, without crushing(支離破碎的) them. but parents should never resort(求助) to the violent, inhumane(殘忍的) way of beating!beating children,此文章版權(quán)歸原作者所有!

        英語作文 篇8

A CAT has baffled experts after trekking 2,000 MILES across Russia to find his family after they moved house.

Caring owner Ravila Hairova, 52, thought her grey moggie Karim would find the change too upsetting when she moved, so she arranged to let her neighbours take him in.

She even left his favourite chair, cushion and food bowls behind in Gulistan, Uzbekistan.

But incredibly TWO years later she found her bedraggled, starving pet waiting on her doorstep when she returned to her home in Liska, Russia.

She said: "I knew he had disappeared from my neighbours' home a few days after we left which was very sad but we never heard another word about him.

"Then I was walking along the road and I saw this cat which seemed to be waiting for me. When I go closer I saw it was Karim - thin, and in very poor condition but it was him."

Now nine-year-old Karim - who crossed three state borders to reach his owners - is like the cat who got the cream as he settles into his new home.

Ravila said: "He is very happy now and so are we. I've no idea how he found us but I'm very glad he did."

Ravila's husband Lev Kondratyev, 46, said: "We called to see how Karim was the day after we arrived and our neighbours told us that he had run off - we then called every day for weeks hoping for news and gradually we gave up hope.

"He looks like he used up all of his nine lives to get to us - but it's definitely him.

"There are certain marks on his body including a scar on his tail when it was caught in the door that show us he is 100 per cent our Karim - and he obviously recognised us as well."
