My English Teacher Our English teacher Mr. Wang is a strongly built thirty-year-old man who is often simply dressed. He has been teaching us English ever since he graduated from the English Department Beijing Normal University in 1993. He devotes all his time and energy to teaching often working late into the night preparing his lessons. He is capable of making his lessons lively and interesting and all of us like his lessons. He is very strict with us but he shows us great concern. He offers us help whenever we need it. We all consider him not only as our good teacher but also as our close friend. We all respect and love him.
我們的英語老師王老師，今年30歲，身體強健，衣著樸素。自從1993年北京師范大學英語系畢業(yè)以來，他一直在教我們英語。他把時間和精力都用在教學上，常常備課工作到深夜。他能把自己的課上得生動有趣，我們大家都喜歡。他對我們既非常嚴格，又極為關心，不管我們什么時候需要幫助，他都主動提供幫助。我們全都認為他不僅是我們的好老師，而且也是我們的.好朋友，我們全都愛戴弛。

就在一個月前，我和鄭凱慧意外的被選為參加英語演講比賽。
第一個任務就是自我介紹。天哪我連最簡單的寫作，寫短短的一片英語作文都不會，還叫我寫自我介紹，這不是比登天還難嗎?我只好硬著頭皮自己寫一點，網上翻譯一點，東拼西湊出一篇文章。之后，我便嘗試著一點一點的背誦�？砷_頭就把我給難住了：小學的英文叫做“elementary school”這么長的英語單詞可怎么讀呀!我又是問老師又是查電腦，終于把它克服了!之后，我又是準備十篇文章，又是讀書本上的英語小短文，所有的'一切都準備好了，就只差東風了!
12月11日，我懷著忐忑不安的心情出發(fā)了。很快，我們就到達了目的地。在準備的報告廳里，人聲鼎沸，一會兒從東面?zhèn)鱽怼癏ello,every one.”一會兒西面又高呼 “My name is…”。這使我這顆本來就沒做好準備的心怦怦直跳。在準備的過程中，我心不在焉，一心只注視著別人的一舉一動。終于輪到我了，在比賽室外的那一分鐘等待，可把我折磨透了。一會兒傳來比賽者清脆的聲音，一會兒又聽見評委老師的竊竊私語。但是，當我一步入比賽現(xiàn)場，我倒不那么緊張了，從剛開始的自我介紹聲音顫抖不一，到最后的流利平穩(wěn)，似乎在這短短的七八分鐘里有了翻天覆地的變化。終于我的比賽結束了。
從小屋里走出來的一瞬間，我真的長舒了一口氣。不管結果怎么樣，這都不是最重要的，不管有沒有晉級，這都是對我英語水平的鍛煉，是對我的肯定。我一定會繼續(xù)努力的!

A man wanted to buy an ass. He went to the market, and saw a likely one. But he wanted to test him first.
一個買主到市場上去買驢，他看中一頭外表不錯的驢。但是他想要先牽走試一試。
So he took the ass home, and put him into the stable with the other asses. The new ass looked around, and immediately went to choose a place next to the laziest ass in the stable.
于是他把驢帶回家，把它和其他驢放在馬廄里。新驢四處張望，馬上就在馬廄里最懶的驢的旁邊選了一個地方。
When the man saw this he put a halter on the ass at once, and gave him back to his owner.The owner felt quite surprised. He asked the man, "Why are you back so soon? Have you tested him already?" "I don't want to test him any more," replied the man.
于是，買驢的人立刻給那頭驢套上韁繩，牽去還給驢的賣主。賣主感到很奇怪，他問買主：“你怎么這么快就回來了?你測試過它了么？”“不必再試了，從他所選擇什么樣的朋友來看，我已經知道他是什么樣的了。”買主回答。

As we know,in the study of English,listening is very important.Listening,speaking,reading and writing are the four basic parts of learning a foreign language.Without listening,we can’t get along well with the others.Furthermore,the English examination itself wouldn’t be complete and perfect if there weren’t listening test in it.It also can’t reflect the overall ability of the students in learning a foreign language.What’s more,in communication with foreigners,if we can’t understand what they say,how can we express ourselves freely?
So we must take advantage of every chance to practise listening to develop our English to meet the needs of our society.
