Qing Ming is a time to remember the dead and the dearly departed. More important, it is a period to honour and to pay respect to one's deceased ancestors and family members. Because it reinforces the ethic of filial piety, Qing Ming is a major Chinese festival. Literally meaning "clear" (Qing) and "bright" (Ming), this Chinese festival falls in early spring, on the 106th day after the winter solstice. 清明節(jié)有種掃墓的習(xí)俗叫“前三后四”，也就是說百姓掃墓應(yīng)該選擇清明節(jié)當(dāng)天的前三天或者后四天去進行掃墓、祭拜逝去的親人。為了倡導(dǎo)低碳祭拜，近幾年，百姓們衍生出了許多低碳環(huán)保的祭拜方式，“紙錢”祭拜將逐漸淡去。
說到“紙錢”，英語中是怎么表述的呢?大家可能第一時間想到的就是paper money，不過字面上的確是“紙錢”的意思，實際上paper money的意思是“紙質(zhì)貨幣”，與“金屬貨幣”metal money相對應(yīng)，是“人世”的錢，不是燒給死者的紙錢哦。
