關(guān)于圣誕樹有這樣一個傳說：據(jù)說有一位農(nóng)民在一個風(fēng)雪交加的圣誕夜里接待了一個饑寒交迫的小孩，讓他吃了一頓豐盛的圣誕晚餐，這個孩子告別時折了一根杉樹枝插在地上并祝福說：“年年此日，禮物滿枝，留此美麗的杉樹，報(bào)答你的好意。”小孩走后，農(nóng)民發(fā)現(xiàn)那樹枝竟變成了一棵小樹，他才明白自己接待的原來是一位上帝的使者。這個故事就成為圣誕樹的來源。
圣誕節(jié)的確是個令人雀躍期待的日子，尤其是小孩子，他們盼望著在圣誕節(jié)，那個穿著紅色大衣，有著雪白胡須，紅紅臉膛，慈祥的圣誕老人，趕著馴鹿，拉著裝滿玩具的和禮物的雪橇挨家挨戶給每個孩子帶來禮物。他們相信這個快樂老精靈在夜里會從大煙囪下來，給他們帶來滿襪子的禮物。
